One block south of Gramercy Park, between Third Avenue and Irving Place in Manhattan, is an entire block with buildings from the late 1800s and early 1900s which were renovated in 1909 and christened “The Block Beautiful". In one of these charming old buildings I combined two apartments to create a spacious, light-filled space. French and American furniture from the 1930s and 40s were ideal for this sophisticated environment that blends the graciousness of the 19th century with the ease of a modern urban space.
